30th Anniversary!

This year Step Together Volunteering will have been supporting people into volunteering for 30 years!

In 1994 our founder Roger Potter set up a charity to help young people into volunteering, after being inspired with the idea when in Nepal. We have grown a great deal since then, now reaching over 800 people per year, and directly supporting over 200 young people, people with criminal convictions, and the Armed Forces Community.

How are we celebrating?

We have several projects happening to celebrate, stay tuned for updates, and see below for what's in store so far!

Journey from Nepal to Bristol!

In February 2024, our team of staff and volunteers started a virtual journey of 4,658 miles from Nepal to Bristol, to celebrate the journey of Step Together Volunteering from where it was born, to where head office is now based, to raise awareness and funds for the people we support. We smashed our target and reached Bristol by July… so much that we are now heading back to Nepal!

We are walking, running, rowing, cycling, swimming... whatever we want to get ourselves to our destination!

30 companies, £30,000

We are looking to bring together a group of 30 Bristol-based businesses and / or individuals, each donating £1,000 to help us support Bristol's young people.

If you would like to invest in Bristol's future, please contact either Anna-Clare Temple: anna-clare.temple@step-together.org.uk, or Deb Saw: deborah.saw@step-together.org.uk, or call us on 0117 955 9042.

30th Anniversary Celebration Event

Thank you so much to everyone who attended our 30th anniversary celebration in Bristol. Our staff, volunteers and trustees loved meeting you all in person and chatting about our projects, plans and celebrating our progress over the years. It was great to connect with so many charity partners and supporters all of whom are key to our work across the UK.

It was a wonderful day to showcase our work with young people, the Armed Forces community, and people with criminal convictions. If you would like to find out more about how we can help or about our services, do get in touch!
