Terms and Conditions

2027 Double TCS London Marathon charity place terms and conditions

Step Together Volunteering receives a limited number of charity places for the TCS London Marathon. These places are extremely important to us because they help us raise vital funds and awareness for our work supporting people to build confidence, skills, and brighter futures through volunteering.

For 2027, the TCS London Marathon will take place across two days: Saturday 24 April 2027 and Sunday 25 April 2027. Step Together Volunteering has charity places across both event days.

By accepting a Step Together Volunteering charity place, you are accepting a place in either the Saturday 24 April 2027 or Sunday 25 April 2027 TCS London Marathon event, depending on the place allocated to you by Step Together Volunteering.

Applicants may express a preference for the Saturday or Sunday event, but preferred dates cannot be guaranteed. Final allocation of places will be at Step Together Volunteering’s discretion.

By accepting a Step Together Volunteering charity place for the 2027 TCS London Marathon, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Fundraising commitment
You agree to raise a minimum of £2,500 for Step Together Volunteering, excluding Gift Aid, by 26 May 2027.

Entry donation
If you are offered and accept a charity place, you agree to make an £80 entry donation through the link provided in your acceptance email within 14 days of accepting your place. This donation is separate from your £2,500 fundraising target and helps contribute towards the cost of your place. The £80 entry donation is non-refundable, including if you later withdraw, defer, or give up your charity place.

Registration with London Marathon Events
You must complete the official London Marathon registration process through the London Marathon console by the deadline given. We will send you the registration information once your £80 entry donation has been received and your place has been confirmed. If you believe you should have received this information but have not, please contact admin@step-together.org.uk as soon as possible.

Event day allocation
Your Step Together Volunteering charity place will be allocated for either the Saturday 24 April 2027 or Sunday 25 April 2027 TCS London Marathon event. Once your place has been confirmed and registered, it cannot be transferred to the other event day or to another person unless permitted by London Marathon Events and agreed by Step Together Volunteering. You must follow all rules, deadlines and instructions issued by London Marathon Events in relation to your allocated event day.

Training, health, and fitness
You are responsible for ensuring that you are fit and well enough to train for and take part in the TCS London Marathon. Step Together Volunteering cannot accept responsibility for any injury, illness, medical issue, or incident that occurs during your training or on race day. If you have any concerns about your health, fitness, or ability to participate, you should seek medical advice.

If you can no longer take part
You must tell us as soon as possible if you are unsure whether you can take part or whether you will be able to meet the fundraising target. The earlier you contact us, the more likely it is that we can support you with fundraising or offer the place to someone on our waiting list. If you withdraw late and we are unable to reallocate your place, Step Together Volunteering may lose both the cost of the place and the fundraising income we expected it to generate.

Deferrals
Deferrals are not guaranteed and will only be considered in exceptional circumstances, subject to the rules, deadlines and approval processes set by London Marathon Events. Any deferral request will be considered by Step Together Volunteering on a case-by-case basis. Donations already received by Step Together Volunteering will not be refunded if you are unable to take part.

Money raised
All sponsorship money raised in aid of Step Together Volunteering must either be paid to Step Together Volunteering or, if you are unable to take part and your sponsors no longer wish to support the charity, returned to the individual sponsors. Donations already received by Step Together Volunteering will not be refunded.

Race weekend arrangements
You are responsible for making your own travel, accommodation and race-day arrangements, including any costs associated with attending the event. You must be able to collect your race number and any other required race materials, including your official event/finisher t-shirt if applicable, from the official London Marathon Running Show/Expo at ExCeL London during the collection period set by London Marathon Events. Step Together Volunteering cannot collect race numbers, event t-shirts, or other race materials on behalf of participants. Step Together Volunteering will not be able to attend on race day.

Communication
We may need to contact you about important deadlines, fundraising progress, registration requirements, or changes to event arrangements. You agree to respond promptly to any communication marked as urgent. If we are unable to contact you, or if you do not respond to important requests, we may withdraw your charity place.

Event changes
You agree to follow the rules, instructions and deadlines set by London Marathon Events. Step Together Volunteering is not responsible for any changes made by London Marathon Events, including changes to the event format, registration process, race-day arrangements or participation requirements.

In order to submit your application, you will need to confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions.
